A little information about myself
I work full-time as a marketing executive in the enterprise team, department at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) and also work part-time as a waitress at corporate and large-scale events. I enjoy my line of work helping people to start their own business and encouraging them to take their next steps moving forward. Meeting entrepreneurs and pre-startups on a regular basis alongside Emma Jones MBE, founder of Enterprise Nation @e_nation, has encouraged me to startup my own e-commerce swimwear business.
I have been thinking about wanting to start my own business for over six months now and decided 2015 is the year for me to get this business idea in motion. Carrying out my first research phase in November 2014, I produced an online women’s swimwear survey and received over 100 responses. Since then I have been to a Getting it Made workshop run by Fashion Angel on the 14 January 2015. I would definitely recommend this workshop for those thinking about starting up or who have already started in the fashion industry. I would also recommend Startup Saturday workshops run by Emma Jones MBE which provides you with all of the information needed to start a business a day!
Why I’ve chosen to blog?
I decided it would be a great idea to write about my journey using blogging as an online journal to keep me on the right track to getting my business idea lifted off the ground. I plan to post fortnightly blogs updating those of interest, potential customers & those within the fashion retail industry on my progress, which will include images taken in the Caribbean of food, places, people & culture. This blog aims to not only help me on my niche swimwear journey but to encourage more people to visit and experience the Caribbean islands.
Comments & feedback
I would be more than happy to receive all comments and feedback, which will help towards my research and development on here or directly to my email address email@example.com.
